You book your flights separately, but we've already worked out the sensible way to do it — here are our recommended routes, airlines and timings for this trip.
Our Vietnam & Cambodia – Temples, Bays and the Mekong tour begins in Hanoi and ends in Siem Reap, so we recommend an open-jaw (multi-city) booking:
The tour does not return to Vietnam at the end, so a simple return to Hanoi is the wrong ticket.

London Heathrow is the only UK airport with a direct flight to Vietnam. Vietnam Airlines flies from Terminal 4 to Hanoi non-stop, in around 12 hours.
There are no direct flights from the UK to Cambodia, so the journey home from Siem Reap will always involve one connection.
From other UK airports you'll connect via a Gulf or Asian hub.
Carriers we recommend
Vietnam Airlines
The only direct UK–Vietnam service, Heathrow Terminal 4 to Hanoi. It also flies Siem Reap to Ho Chi Minh City, so the whole open-jaw sits on a single ticket.
Singapore Airlines
A one-stop via Singapore in both directions, with an easy onward connection to Siem Reap and one of the most comfortable hubs in Asia.
Thai Airways
A one-stop via Bangkok; Bangkok Airways operates the short hop on to Siem Reap, with your bags checked through.

Fly into Hanoi and home from Siem Reap — an open-jaw, not a return.
The direct flight out to Hanoi is around 12 hours. Coming home from Siem Reap means one stop, typically 15–18 hours door to door.
Vietnam Airlines can carry the whole thing on one ticket: Heathrow to Hanoi on the way out, and Siem Reap via Ho Chi Minh City on the way home.
Typical economy fares are around £800–£1,500 per person for the open-jaw.
We must stress that this is indicative only, with fares often rising closer to the departure date and over Christmas and New Year, always subject to availability and change.
On the way out: Vietnam Airlines leaves Heathrow Terminal 4 in the evening and lands in Hanoi the following evening — a comfortable, sleep-through start. Vietnam is 6–7 hours ahead of the UK.
On arrival: The tour begins in Hanoi. Arriving a day early is a good idea, and the Old Quarter is a fine first taste of the country.
Coming back: You fly home from Siem Reap–Angkor International (SAI). This is the new airport that replaced the old one in 2023 — check your booking shows SAI, not the retired REP code.
Cambodia needs a visa: Vietnam does not, but Cambodia does. Apply for the e-visa online before you travel, and make sure your passport has a blank page.
Extend the trip: Why not add a few days on the Cambodian coast, or break the journey home with a stopover in Singapore or Bangkok?
International flights are booked separately and booked directly with the airline. The recommendations on this page are guidance to help you choose; fares are indicative and subject to availability and change. We don't sell flights or guarantee fares.
