Cheow Larn is a man-made lake amidst the beautiful rainforest of Khao Sok National Park. The rainforest, is more than 300 million years old, home to an abundance of wildlife and surrounded by towering limestone mountains. Those who venture deep enough encounter its crown jewel: the Cheow Larn lake. It was constructed in 1987 by the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand but, luckily, escaped pollution due to community efforts.
